Litsonan sa Kadalanan! Today!

Every year in the celebration of the Araw ng Digos City, Litsonan sa Kadalanan is a big hit for the masses anf for those who are lovers of Lechon (grilled suckling pig).

More on this after the jump!

The usual Php350.00 / kilo price of lechon are slashed and will now sold during the celebration for only Php 270.00 /per kilo. This is always present during fiesta's around the Philippines.

Ant it goes well with Puso (rice cooked in wrappes coconut leaves) as shown above.

You will not only see lechon being sold and grilled on the street, but also you will be serenaded by a Rondalla Band while shopping around or your favorite lechon.

Young and old alike will share their musicality on the street with their favorite instruments.

A lady isalready busy chopping the lechon into small pieces for her to sell.

Leconeros as they are called are the one who turns the pig while being grilled. We still make our lechon the traditional way.

The pig are lining up for the grill to be cooked.

They have to endure the smoke from the coal while grilling the yummy lechon.

Former Pres. Joseph 'Erap' Estrada graces the 8th Araw ng Digos City!

Former Pres. Joseph 'Erap' Estrada is today present at the culmination of the 8th Araw ng Digos City through the invitation of his party ally the Mayor of Digos City Atty. Arsenio Latasa and he came in together with former Sen. Ernesto Maceda, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay and oppositon activist actor Rez Cortez.

This is the first time that big time politician came to the celebration of Araw ng Digos City. This is very interesting day for the people of Digos City not only as it celebrates its cityhood but also today was not declared a holiday. It is a normal working holiday there are some glitches in making this day a holiday. It is also very apparent that the absence of the Governor of Davao del Sur Douglas RA. Cagas who declared today as a normal working day and other politicians associated with the administration.

But all in all the culmination program is well attended by the people of Digos City.

Araw ng Digos City Today!

Digos City is celebrating it's 8th Araw ng Digos City! The week long festival will end today and it started with a parade this morning at around 9:00 a.m. , the parade took around an hour it started at the Quirino Ave. and goes through Rizal Ave. and ends at Rizal Park in this city.

Local schools participated in the parade together with their majorette and school bands that made the affair quiet colorful and lively.

At the parade there we can see that only local schools, local barangays, and Sanguniang Kabataan are present during the parade.

I have not seen one local elected official that participated the parade, they opt to wait at Rizal Park and don't want to walk through the city under the scorching heat of the sun.
